In the hands of The Lich King by MeWannaLearn In the hands of The Lich King by MeWannaLearn
"I give you immortality So you may serve one purpose... To bring victory to the Scourge!"

It's quite funny with the death knight. Blizzard really made me applause them for the very first time when death knight came. The story-line from lvl 55 to lvl 58 is just wonderful. At start when you get your quest to go and kill in the name of the Lich King you get whispers from Lich King himself "Kill or be killed."

What i drew here is the unforgivable destiny of a death knight. After raised from death his task was to go and destroy what he loved and fought for in the war. Despair, sadness... no... In his eyes you can see a grim of anger... but you can barely depict a sadness look. What can one do when he is in the hand of The Lich King!!!!

Took me.. 3 days :P sleep and break and games. Photoshop, ref after me and a Death Knight lvl 55 from Blizzard Ent. Head Character: ref after me and Greek sculptures.

Big picture. Free doawnload if you wish to see more details.

This is really nice! You've done a great job with the little details- especially the butterfly. I have to say though, the single most powerful part of this painting is the face and hands- the colouring there is so intense. I love it. You could probably just have a crop of the upper torso and it would still be a fantastic painting.

I'm thinking the background could use some more contrast and saturation? I'm not really feeling the heat from the flames in the background...maybe the backlighting on the figure could be strengthened too.

Great job anyhows, it's really good to see you pushing your boundaries with every piece :)

Never being satisfied with what you do is a good attitude to have in order to get better, but make sure it doesn't discourage you from keeping the art going :)

Wonderfully done, I loved the story for the Dk's int he first few lvls of WoW, it really made it feel more epic, and it made the DKs seem to have a bit more to them in their "torment" after they betray Arthas, Well done!

Aw, so that's the way... darn, I never use refs, mostly because I know I couldn't cope to make anything look realistic (that's why I stick with childish style ;)).
I've still got so many techniques to try... For example I never tried the picture the way you do, I mean greyscale and then add colours...
Well, I guess nothin is more motivating to try this out than seeing such results as yours :P
Cheers.

well i sugest you try and do a portrait. play with the volums a little and do it grayscale like [link] It didn t took me much. Maybe 2 to 3 hours.
Pick up a anatomy book or a picture and work it out :)

Wow! It looks really great! :wow: I especially like how you draw the face and the hands and also the sword! Also the background looks awesome! ..and of course also the smaller details like the butterfly on the flower :D
..well, overall it's really well done also the rather difficult things like the lighting. :)

Very nice! I really like your colors, as always :D You seem to be quite masterful with tone. Also, nice lighting effects, the burning house looks like a real burning house XD
The only thing I would say is in some parts it is kind of obvious that you did it in B&W first, then with a color layer. (Mostly at the treeline and where the fire meets the sky) But besides these small touch-ups you could do, it's great =D

B&W = Black and white. So you didn't do it in black and white first and then use a color layer? Well it's more impressive then 8D
